Stepping Toward Wellness: A Resident’s Gift of Care

Featured Image

We're delighted to share that our community has received a meaningful and inclusive gift, a wheelchair accessible recumbent stepper, generously donated by resident Mary Jim Hunt.

"HTS was thrilled about the recent donation of a new recumbent bike. This piece of equipment will create an opportunity for those who previously struggled to use our cardio/resistance machines. This bike features a detachable seat, enabling individuals who are unable to transfer on their own or are confined to a wheelchair to utilize this machine. This machine may be used by individuals regardless of physical ability, opening up an extra machine and allowing us to be more efficient in the Fitness Center. I anticipate that there are well over 10 residents who may benefit from the addition of this bike!"  -Nick Neuman, FFC Exercise Specialist

Mary Jim reflected on the care Robert received here at FFC with Healthcare Therapy Services. “We’re incredibly grateful that when Robert needed extra help, he was able to receive therapy services right here at FFC. His recovery, especially being able to walk again, was something we never expected.” She continued, “Through this experience, we realized we’re exactly where we need to be. The support we’ve received at FFC has meant so much to us.” Her hope is that the new equipment will continue to make a difference. “Exercise is so important. I truly hope others will benefit from the stepper just as much as Robert did.”

We invite all residents to stop by the wellness center, try out the new stepper, and take a step toward better health. Whether you're starting a new routine or continuing your wellness journey, this equipment is here to support you. Let’s move forward together!

We also extend a special thank you to Shane Disheaux from HTS for his assistance in selecting the right equipment and handling the ordering and shipping details. His support helped make this generous gift a reality.

And most of all, thank you to Mary Jim for the generous donation and for the care and kindness she continues to share with our community.
