If you haven't yet visited Mr. B's Chicken Salad in Centerville, now is the perfect time to discover what makes this charming café so special. More than just a place to enjoy a delicious meal, Mr. B's is a heartfelt tribute to a beloved community figure.
Named in honor of Dick Bohlander, a beloved former Centerville resident and principal of the Centerville-Abington School District, Mr. B’s Chicken Salad is a place where legacy and hospitality come together. Dick and his wife, Jan, became part of the FFC Independent Housing community in 2007 and later moved into the main building in 2019. Dick passed away in August 2021, but his legacy continues to shine.
Dick and Jan Bohlander
The café is owned and operated by Mindy Myers, Dick and Jan’s daughter, and officially opened the doors on August 16. Mindy created the signature chicken salad recipe as a tribute to her dad, who was known for his kindness, encouragement, and knack for sending handwritten notes and newspaper clippings to celebrate others’ achievements. Mr. B believed in lifting people up, and now his spirit lives on in every bite.

The café itself offers a cozy, welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy fresh, flavorful food made with care. Whether you're stopping in for lunch or picking up a bite to go, Mr. B’s Chicken Salad is quickly becoming a local favorite, not just for its food, but for the story behind it.
a replication of a handwritten note from Dick is included with every order
And there’s more good news! Mindy is also opening Bibbly Boo Toy & Candy Shoppe just around the corner on Main Street in late October. So, whether you’re craving something savory or sweet, Centerville’s got you covered.
Stop by, grab a bite, and be part of the legacy.
